Learn Cross Stitch at Home: Online Beginner Workshop
Join Leah from Craft Make Do for a relaxing online counted cross stitch workshop where you'll learn the fundamentals of this calming stitching technique, ready to keep stitching long after the class ends.
It doesn't matter if you've never picked up a needle before, everyone starts somewhere, and a slightly wonky first stitch is all part of the fun. This beginner friendly class is perfect if you're searching for a new hobby, a relaxing night in, or a fun online craft activity to join solo or with a friend, all from the comfort of your own home.
During this guided online session, Leah will walk you through the materials used in counted cross stitch, how to read a pattern, and how to use an embroidery hoop, before teaching you the basic stitches themselves. Your cross stitch kit will be posted straight to your door ahead of the class, so everything is ready to go the moment you log on.
This workshop is about learning a skill for life, so you won't finish your kit within the session itself. Instead, you'll leave with a solid grounding in the basics, the confidence to keep going, and a project you can return to at your own pace, plus a calming new hobby you might just fall in love with.
Knowledge/skills required:
This workshop is designed for complete beginners. No previous embroidery or cross stitch experience is needed, just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm.
Attendees will receive:
✶ A guided live cross stitch workshop with Leah from Craft Make Do
✶ All materials supplied on the day
✶ A solid grounding in cross stitch materials, pattern reading, hoop use and the basic stitches
✶ A project to keep stitching at home
Attendees should bring:
Small scissors or thread snips.
If you're joining an in-person class, all materials and tools are provided.
If you're joining an online class, your kit will be posted to you. You will need to provide your own scissors.
No experience is necessary. All our workshops are designed for beginners

Cancellations: To cancel or reschedule, please notfy us at least 48 hours before the scheduled start time. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the workshop are non-refundable.
Refunds: Full payment is required at the time of booking. Refunds are available minus the cost of any materials sent to you, only if a cancellation is made at least 48 hours before the workshop start time.
No-Shows: If you are late or miss your session (no-show), we are unable to refund or reschedule.
